We are happy to introduce our next vendors... Ed & Janet Dreher. Everything that they sell is made by hand for their business, Once A Tree Creations.

What type of items do you sell?
Once A Tree Creations sells handcrafted wood items all of which are made in Ed's little workshop.
We sell: Pig banks, jewelry and keepsake boxes, penguin banks (because who ever made decided that pigs should have such a monopoly on the bank business?!) Turtle Stools (footstools in the shape of turtles), Acorn necklaces and earrings, and more.

Plus we offer beautiful wooden plaques in a variety of sizes and styles. The plaques feature word art with Bible verses, quotes, hymns and more. They make a perfect addition to any room. Hang them on the wall, set them in a little picture easel or plate stand, give them as a gift, whatever you desire!

And, we love to do custom orders. Do you want to order a custom-made extra large purple pig bank? Would you like 5, mini penguin banks for each of your grandkids, each featuring different colored bellies? Do you have a quote or Bible verse that you want on a plaque? Or do you want to display your family names in a unique and fun way? Just ask and we'll make it happen!

Did you participate in the Fall 2010 Hesston, KS Barn Sale?
Nope, we are newbies to the Barn Sale event and we're very excited about it!

What is your favorite item that you will have for sale?
Once A Tree Creation's signature item is the pig bank. These high-quality banks come in several different sizes and are a great way to store all the extra change rather than letting it gather on the counter top or in the couch cushions.

What other craft show/sales have you participated in?
We love to participate in local craft shows. We are retired and it's a fun way to spend the day meeting new people and showing off Ed's self-taught talent.

What is your favorite craft show food?
What don't we like?! Homemade pies, sloppy joes, caramel apples, the list could go on...

What is your favorite thing about Spring? And your least favorite?
We love when the weather turns warm and we can sit outside in the evenings talking with friends and family. But along with the nice weather comes the scary, stormy weather oftentimes, that would be the downside of Spring!

What are some of your favorite activities and hobbies?
This is Ed's hobby. Once A Tree Creations is just a glimpse of Ed's imaginative mind and skillful hands. We also love taking walks and we spend a lot of time with our grandkids. I (Janet) also love to scrapbook.

We are so excited to be involved in this fun event. This is right up our alley! It's also important to us to have affordable items. We put a ton of work into the design but we love them so much that we want other people to enjoy them in their own homes or be able to give that “perfect” gift without spending an arm and a leg. Our 1 foot tall by 1 ½ foot long pig banks are made of quality wood, are 100% made by hand and sell for $35. Most of our items are well under $20. Plaques range from $8 for a 5x5 square to $20 for a 10x10.

We will have a variety of wood items and plaques, but if you have an idea and would like us to make a custom order, definitely talk with us! We love to hear new ideas and try new things.

Stacee, what type of items do you sell?
I have hand crafted several fun items! I hand painted little girl’s hair bow holders (some personalized) that can be hung on the wall to help keep hair bows and clips organized. I have sewn adult and children’s tote bags, children’s security blankets, and fabric gift bags. And, I have made some bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. I will also have some items from Hastings Woodworking to sell…. Handmade wooden birdhouses and bird feeders.

Did you participate in the Fall 2010 Hesston, KS Barn Sale?
Yes, I did. It was a beautiful Fall day!

What is your favorite item that you will have for sale?
My favorite new item that I will have at this sale is my Tattered Tote Bags. They would be perfect for several things…. A church quiet bag, a going to grandma’s bag, a library bag, a grocery bag, a diaper bag… the possibilities are endless!

What other craft show/sales have you participated in?
Besides the Fall Barn Sale, I also participated in the Holiday Gift Blitz last November at the Sedgwick County Extension Center.

What is your favorite craft show food?
I love the Bloom’in Onion and the traditional Funnel Cake.

What is your favorite thing about Spring? And your least favorite?
I love to get out in our yard… to plant flowers and a garden with my husband’s help. I have two little girls and it is fun just to be outside with them, watching them and playing with them. My least favorite thing is the mud from the Spring showers!

What are some of your favorite activities and hobbies?
I love to scrapbook, sew and quilt, watch K-State football and basketball, and doing things with my family

Lil' Miss Maya

We are super busy preparing for this Saturday's Spring Barn Sale! Are you all ready? Will you be here shopping or selling? We can't wait to see all of your smiling faces and to meet you.

We would like to introduce you to one of our vendors... Celia Chavez. Her business name is Lil’ Miss Maya. She has a website, if you'd like to check it out... www.lilmissmaya.com and you can also follow Lil' Miss Maya on facebook. www.facebook.com/lilmissmaya

Celia, What type of items do you sell?
I sell boutique hair bows, hair flowers, tutus and hair bow holders for all ages.

Did you participate in the Fall 2010 Hesston, KS Barn Sale?
Yes, I did participate in the Fall 2010 Barn Sale.

What is your favorite item that you will have for sale?
My favorite item that I will be selling at the Barn Sale would be the NEW Bow Boards. They can be used as a memory board in boys or girls rooms and come in two sizes. The large one hold up to 100 bows and headbands and the small one holds up to 35 bows and headbands.

What other craft show/sales have you participated in?
The last Fall Barn Sale was my first ever craft show and it was a blast. I did very well. Since then I have participated in 3 more craft shows and I also have a “bow board” and sell many bows at Dana’s Dance Center in Clearwater, KS for their competitions. In 2010 Lil Miss Maya was in the Down syndrome Society of Wichita fundraiser craft show, Maize Fall Fest craft show and The Holiday Gift Blitz craft show.

What is your favorite craft show food?
My favorite craft show food is the Cinnamon and sugar covered pretzels that were at the Barn Sale last Fall.

What is your favorite thing about Spring? And your least favorite?
My favorite thing about spring is being at the park with my daughter on a bright spring day, smelling the fresh air. I love spring! The thing I least like about spring is allergies.

What are some of your favorite activities and hobbies?
I do a lot of activities with my 4 year old daughter who plays soccer and dances competitively. I am in school full time and work part time so I don’t have a lot of free time, but when I do I love to craft. I like to put my creativity to work and create new things.

I started this business with my customers in mind. Knowing how expensive boutique girly items were, I knew I wanted to create similar items with a much lower price. I love dressing my little girl up in super girly tutus and huge hair bows. But I don’t want to spend an arm and leg for them. I sell accessories and I want them to have “accessory” prices. It is my intent to sell the highest quality products that I can create for the lowest price to the customer as possible.
